Is Malin + Goetz cruelty-free?
Malin + Goetz is passionately committed to producing only cruelty-free products. Malin + Goetz founders, Matthew and Andrew, are avid advocates for the humane treatment of all animals and products never have (and never will be) tested on animals. Malin + Goetz are certified cruelty-free by peta’s beauty without bunnies program and their logo can be found on the back of each of products.
Is Malin + Goetz natural?
Many formulas contain natural ingredients such as peppermint, bergamot and eucalyptus, all sourced from the highest-quality producers. Malin + Goetz uses advanced technology to help these ingredients perform to the best of their ability and to keep formulas consistent, stable and safe for skin. The natural ingredients Malin + Goetz uses consist of both traditional apothecary ingredients with well-known healing properties and more recent botanical discoveries from unique sources all around the world.
Is Malin + Goetz sulfate-free?
Many Malin + Goetz products are sulfate-free such as Malin + Goetz best-selling grapefruit face cleanser, gentle hydrating shampoo, dandruff shampoo, detox scalp mask, and peppermint body scrub. While Malin + Goetz currently utilize sodium laureth sulfate (sles) and/or ammonium laureth sulfate (als) in hand+ body washes, and peppermint shampoo. They are always constantly finding ways to improve and optimize formulas when they can to ensure both safety and efficacy. These formulas will be transitioning to sulfate-free later this year.
When does my product expire?
All Malin + Goetz products have a shelf life of 3 years while unopened. After your product is opened, Malin + Goetz recommends using it within 12 months, as indicated by the “period after opening” symbol on the label, to ensure peak freshness and efficacy.
How are products tested?
All of Malin + Goetz products are formulated with sensitive skin in mind, as Malin + Goetz founder Matthew suffers from several skin sensitivities, including rosacea, eczema, seborrhea, and fragrance allergies. Any product that Malin + Goetz creates must first meet the standards of Matthew’s sensitive skin. During final development, Malin + Goetz products also undergo numerous rounds of rigorous testing to ensure their safety, stability, and efficacy prior to launch, including cumulative irritancy testing on human volunteers. Neither Malin + Goetz products nor the ingredients they contain have been tested on animals.

Are products gluten-free?
The majority of Malin + Goetz products are gluten-free. The only products that contain gluten are: botanical deodorant, ingrown hair cream, spf 30 face moisturizer, jojoba exfoliating cleanser, moisturizing shampoo, hair pomade, dog shampoo, stem EDP, and bar soaps.
Do products contain sulfates?
The vast majority of Malin + Goetz products are sulfate-free and use gentle coconut-derived surfactants as substitutes.
Will my product remain stable in extreme heat or extreme cold?
Yes, all Malin + Goetz products have undergone stability testing in which they are put through extreme temperatures, both high and low, to ensure they remain stable and effective under a wide range of conditions. Some products may exhibit a temporary textural change, but this does not impact efficacy.
Why are many products packaged in plastic rather than glass?
Malin + Goetz prides itself on thoughtful packaging designs. Many products are packaged in plastic so that they can eliminate secondary packaging and thus minimize waste. Plastic is also more lightweight and durable than glass, which makes it safer and more convenient, especially when it comes to products used for travel, amenities or shower use.
Is there a warranty?
There is a 30-day warranty against manufacturer defects.
