We chatted with Alex DeAngelo from RugsUSA! We talked about their washable rug line (which includes shag!), the best color and weave for high-traffic areas, size tips, and more! Here's a rough breakdown:

Rugs are season-less. So even though we do see trends, do not stress too much over them because, at the end of the day, rugs are timeless. That being said, some 2022 trends they are seeing are shades of brown and earthy colors. Additionally, Jute rugs with graphic checkerboard print, mimicking beautiful tile work is hot right now.

Outdoor Rugs! Be thoughtful of rugs you put outside. Try to continue the inside, outside and create an open flow. You can do this with a rug such as the modern trellis outdoor tasseled rug. As for outdoor rug maintenance, the best you can do is hang them dry every now and then and vacuum at least bi-weekly.
